The spirals in the Heart of the Park area. Note the memorial cedar trees located along each spiral. Each tree was individually purchased to honor a special person and to raise money for the park. Also visible in this photo are the summer solstice sunrise line and the runic calendar, as well as the secondary bike/walk cinder trails that describe a pyramid enclosing the center of the spirals.

Our goal for Cedar Lake Park is to bring people and nature together in harmonious community…a goal symbolized by the spiral.

Locator Map

Cedar Lake Park lies along the north and east shores of Cedar Lake, one of the Chain of Lakes within the city of Minneapolis. Cedar Lake Park is funded, developed and maintained by the combined efforts of volunteers, neighbors, the Cedar Lake Park Association, and the Minneapolis Park Board.

Trails Map

Paved trails at the east and north edges of the park (Cedar Lake Trail and Kenilworth Trail, respectively) facilitate the use of bicycles and other non-motorized forms of transportation. These trails will eventually link the park to all parts of the surrounding urban area.

Attractions Map

The wood-chipped trails within Cedar Lake Park and bordering the lake are designed for walking, quiet, and contemplation. Various areas of the park contain interesting natural features and sites created to engage people with nature and foster physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth.
